Stoyan karaivanov

Stoyan Karaivanov stands out as Bulgaria’s first bandoneon virtuoso and a fresh, compelling voice on the world tango stage. His playing blends deep respect for tradition with a modern, expressive touch—qualities that brought him several high honors and growing international recognition. His career reflects both a deep lineage – carrying forward lessons from tango’s masters – and a  inventive spirit, opening fresh paths for the bandoneon in Bulgaria and beyond. In 2025 he
received the Krefelder Bandoneon-Preis, an award that pays tribute to Heinrich Band, the instrument’s inventor, and celebrates exceptional bandoneon artistry.
